Hi there! I’m so glad you are here! I am a dual-certified nurse practitioner with board certification in both psychiatric and mental health nursing as well as family practice. I graduated with a Masters of Science in Nursing from Middle Tennessee State University in 2018. I take a holistic approach to mental health, treating the mind and body as one utilizing psychiatric medication, integrative supplements, and supportive therapy.
In our first session, you can expect to help me learn more about you and your values, discuss your current psychiatric and mental health symptoms, review your medical history, family history, and work together to set goals for treatment. This will help me create a plan and roadmap for our work together. If further testing and assessment is needed, this will be completed in follow up visits.
As a neurodivergent clinician, I get it! I offer a unique perspective with firsthand understanding of the challenges and strengths that come with being neurodivergent and this allows me to relate to my clients on a deeper level, fostering empathy, trust, and authentic connection. I take a strengths based approach to help you identify and navigate your strengths and see yourself in a positive light while building on those skills. I have additional training and certification as a certified ADHD professional (ADHD-CCSP)
Do you identify as neurodivergent? Are you frustrated with difficulties focusing, completing tasks, or managing time? Are you overwhelmed by worries, racing thoughts, or difficulty controlling anxiety and stress? Are you open to exploring both medication and mindfulness-based skills to manage your symptoms? Yes? You would be a great fit for my practice. I love working with adults who motivated and ready to take an active role in their mental health journey, looking to improve their relationships and overall sense of well-being, and looking for strategies to excel in addition to finding and optimizing the right medication.
I integrate mindfulness-based skills into my therapy sessions to empower patients in managing anxiety, stress, depression, focus and impulsivity. This approach cultivates present-moment awareness and fosters self-compassion, equipping patients with tools to navigate challenges and improve overall well-being.
I prioritize medication psychoeducation and provide information in a variety of formats, ensuring you understand your diagnosis and the medication we consider. This empowers you to participate actively in treatment decisions and fosters trust throughout the process.
I utilize motivational interviewing techniques during our session to help you explore your goals and build your own motivation for change. This collaborative approach empowers you to identify what’s important and develop a treatment plan that feels achievable, fostering a sense of ownership and increasing the likelihood of long term success.
