LPC, 10 years of experience
New to Grow
I am a clinician with over a decade of experience working in a variety of settings, including IOP and non-profit organizations. I have supported clients facing a range of challenges, including sexual assaults' and trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. My therapeutic approach integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify emotional triggers and recognize unhelpful thought patterns; fostering healthier coping strategies, emotional resilience, and empowering change.
In our first session, I encourage clients to take the lead and set the tone for our work together. We may spend time discussing your history, exploring reasons for therapy, or begin to identify goals. Together, we will also review important background information such as your current support systems and coping strategies, to help guide the process moving forward.
I strive to balance directness with warmth, creating a supportive and non judgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences and share their challenges. I emphasize the development of practical coping strategies, enhanced emotional regulation, stronger problem solving skills, and gaining a deeper insight into your thoughts and feelings.
In my practice, I am deeply committed to working with clients who have experienced trauma and sexual abuse. The most rewarding aspect of my work is witnessing their growth as they move beyond their past experiences, refusing to let those experiences define them. It is a privilege to support and guide them as they rediscover their sense of self and begin to thrive
Everyone experiences events in their life differently. What may be traumatic/stressful to you, may not be traumatic/stressful to others. Using DBT, we can focus and process your various life circumstances through recognizing and understanding your emotions, develop emotional regulation, mindfulness, and improve communicating your feelings to others.
Everyone is different and I prefer to adapt my methods to each persons specific personality, values, and needs. There is no "One size fits all" in therapy and using an eclectic strategy allows me to adapt to your specific needs
