Hi, my name is Dr. Angela Noe, but you can call me Angie. I'm a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in ADHD, depression, bipolar disorder, anger and emotion dysregulation difficulties, communication skill development, the development of coping skills to help with adjusting to life stressors, and psychological testing. Therapy clients tend to describe me as down to earth, nonjudgmental, direct, and never boring. I'm also the type of therapist who doesn't mind cursing, and I make frequent references to memes. My therapy dog Diamond will make an appearance during sessions, too :) Background: I earned bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice, and a minor degree in Women’s Studies from Stockton University in Pomona, New Jersey. I then earned a master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City, followed by a master’s and doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I completed my postdoctoral fellowship at Stone, McElroy, & Associates in Smyrna, Georgia. My work here included pre-employment psychological evaluations with police and public safety candidates, post-critical incident debriefings, fitness for duty evaluations, and fitness for duty consultations. I also conducted psychological evaluations with reality television cast member candidates, coping skills trainings with reality television cast members, and a mental health first aid training program designed for reality television production crew members. Prior to this, I completed my clinical internship with Nystrom & Associates in New Brighton, Minnesota where I conducted psychological evaluations with children, adolescents, and adults referred for a variety of reasons. I also provided mental health services to adolescents and individuals referred by the courts for anger management and/or substance abuse.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

We will start with me asking whether or not you have done therapy before, after which we will review the limits of confidentiality. During this time, I will seek to get your consent to allow cursing and meme references during the sessions. After this, I will ask you what brings you to me today, and we will work on outlining the circumstances that prompted you to schedule an appointment. The first session will have a stronger focus on gathering background information, but will nevertheless still be engaging and help with developing insight into your case.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I’m very intuitive, and I tend to pick up on what people mean even when they don’t quite have words for it yet. I notice when something feels “off” or unfinished and I’ll gently name it so we can look at it together. I’m straightforward, but I’m also easy to talk to — I use humor when it helps take the pressure off, and I don’t make people feel judged for being human. My style is honest, curious, and collaborative: I don’t just sit quietly and nod, I actually engage with you. Clients often tell me that I “get it” quickly and that they feel understood without having to over-explain themselves. I focus on the real roots of what you’re carrying, not just the surface symptoms, so the change we work toward actually holds in the long run.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with people who know something in their life isn’t lining up the way it should anymore and are ready to actually do something about it — even if they don’t know what that “something” is yet. I often work with ADHD, mood disorders (depression, bipolar), first responders, teens and parents navigating behavior or emotional overload, and people whose lives intersect with the legal system. I’m especially effective with clients who feel misunderstood, “hard to read,” or who are used to masking and staying in survival mode. Over time, people usually see major shifts in self-confidence, clarity, and emotional regulation — they set better boundaries, trust themselves more, and stop feeling like they have to shrink or over-explain just to get through life.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I typically describe my therapeutic orientation as eclectic because I rely on skills from many different therapy styles to address all of your needs. For example, I may incorporate CBT techniques without taking a strictly CBT approach.
