Hi, my name is Dr. Angela Noe, but you can call me Angie. I'm a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in adolescent psychology, forensic psychology, police & public safety psychology, and psychological testing (especially ADHD testing). Therapy clients tend to describe me as down to earth, nonjudgmental, direct, and never boring. I'm also the type of therapist who doesn't mind cursing, and I make frequent references to memes. My therapy dog Diamond will make an appearance during sessions, too (@diamondthetherapydog)!
I will ask you what brings you to me today, after which we will work together to figure out what is going on and how to best address it. This process works even more smoothly if you have a list of specific things you would like to address or skills that you would like to develop.
My personality strengths include insightful & intuitive with strong pattern recognition, so I will notice when your mood/behavior/verbal tone/word choice differs from your usual baseline, and I will ask about the change. Additionally, I am able to relate to the experiences of others & can take their perspectives very easily. I am also direct and I will call things out as they arise, but in a playful way that makes it easy to hear so that you can take in the information without feeling attacked. Lastly, my interpersonal style can be described as pleasant and jovial, an energy that I bring to the therapy dynamic. I have noticed that this energy can be contagious with some clients, which in turn appears to create some type of improvement in their stress and mood levels.
Clients aged 13 to 25 for general therapy; clients of any age struggling with ADHD, depression, or bipolar disorder; clients of any age who experience difficulties related to anger management, stress management, and emotion dysregulation; clients of any age struggling to reconnect with their intuition after a toxic relationship; those who are still trying to exit a toxic relationship; clients currently going through any kind of spiritual awakening process; clients who struggle with decision making and who would benefit from additional training in problem solving.
I typically describe my therapeutic orientation as eclectic because I rely on skills from many different therapy styles to address all of your needs. For example, I may incorporate CBT techniques without taking a strictly CBT approach.
