New to Grow
Life can feel overwhelming at times, and sometimes having a trusted sounding board can make all the difference. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship stress, substance use, and life transitions. Clients often describe me as warm, approachable, and easy to talk to. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and comfortable exploring challenges while building the tools and confidence to move forward.
The first session is a chance for us to connect and start building a foundation for our work together. We'll spend time discussing what brought you to therapy, what's been weighing on you, and what you'd like life to look like moving forward. You don't need to prepare anything or worry about saying the "right" thing. My goal is to create a comfortable, judgment-free space where you can share as much or as little as you're ready to. Together, we'll begin exploring your goals and creating a plan that feels meaningful and manageable.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is recognizing that no two people are the same, and therapy should reflect that. I don't believe there is a single approach that works for everyone or that one therapeutic modality is the answer to every challenge. Instead, I focus on building a genuine connection, understanding your unique experiences, strengths, and goals, and tailoring our work together to fit your needs. My approach is collaborative, flexible, and person-centered. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel understood, supported, and empowered with tools and strategies that truly fit their lives. I also bring my own life experiences, including my own ups and downs, which helps me show up with authenticity, empathy, and without judgment. I understand that life can feel complicated and overwhelming at times, and I aim to create a space where you can be honest, messy, uncertain, or stuck without feeling criticized or evaluated.
My ideal client is someone who is willing to put in the work on themselves. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. I am here to help navigate the uncertain, challenging or confusing things going on in your life. What matters most is a willingness to show up, be open, and engage in the process. I am committed to the process and our time together if you are. I work best with clients who value support but are also ready to actively participate in their growth, even when it takes time. I understand that meaningful change is rarely immediate, and I appreciate working with people who recognize that real progress often takes patience, consistency, and commitment over time.
Other specialties
I identify as
Trauma-Focused CBT
In my practice, I use trauma focused CBT in a supportive and paced way to help clients understand how past experiences may still be impacting their thoughts, emotions, and responses today. We start by building safety and practical coping skills, then gently explore how certain patterns may have developed over time and show up in the present. When appropriate and at a pace that feels safe, we work on processing difficult experiences while also identifying and challenging unhelpful or self-blaming thoughts. Throughout the process, we focus on building tools that help you feel more grounded, regulated, and in control in your daily life.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT builds on CBT by using the same foundation of understanding the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, while also placing more focus on emotions, relationships, and managing overwhelming moments in real time. While CBT helps us notice and shift unhelpful thought patterns, DBT adds practical skills for when emotions feel too intense to think your way through, including ways to regulate emotions, tolerate distress without making things worse, and communicate more effectively in relationships. In my work, I use DBT principles to help clients not only understand what’s happening internally, but also build concrete, usable tools to stay grounded and cope in the moment when things feel hard.
Couples Counseling
Couples counseling in my practice focuses on helping partners slow things down and actually hear each other, especially when communication has broken down or conflict feels repetitive. Rather than focusing on who is “right” or “wrong,” we look at the patterns that keep showing up between you and what’s underneath the reactions during conflict. I help couples learn how to communicate more clearly, express needs in a way that can be received, and begin repairing connection when things feel strained or distant, with the goal of building a stronger foundation of understanding, respect, and teamwork so you can navigate challenges together in a healthier way.
Family Therapy
Family therapy in my practice focuses on helping families slow things down and understand what is happening beneath conflict, miscommunication, or emotional distance. Instead of focusing on one person being “the problem,” we look at the patterns within the family system and how each person is experiencing the situation. I help families communicate more openly and respectfully, express needs in ways that can actually be heard, and begin rebuilding connection where things have felt strained. The goal is to create more understanding, reduce tension, and support healthier ways of relating so the family can function in a more connected and supportive way.
Motivational Interviewing
In my practice, I use Motivational Interviewing as a collaborative, non-judgmental way to help clients explore change at their own pace. Instead of pushing or telling you what to do, I ask questions and help you sort through what feels stuck, what matters to you, and what change might look like in a realistic way. We look at any ambivalence together, those “part of me wants to change, part of me doesn’t” feelings, and work to strengthen your own motivation and confidence. The goal is to help you feel more clear, empowered, and ready to take steps that align with your values.
