Audrie Roberts

LCSW (she/her)7 years of experience

Hi, I'm Audrie! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in the mental health field for 7 years. I enjoy working with individuals who are on a journey of self-discovery and change. Maybe you know where you want to go or maybe you just know that you are tired of standing still, either way I would love to support you as you navigate what comes next.

First session

In our first session, we will take time to establish the therapeutic relationship in which I will learn more about you and what led to the decision to engage in therapy. I will also share more insight into my areas of training and therapeutic modalities that may be of interest to you in addressing your needs. From there, we will map out areas of concern or opportunities for development to craft a specified treatment plan goals that will guide our time together.

Strengths

I firmly believe that clear is kind and that informs my approach in my personal and professional life. I believe in an assertive, compassionate, and direct approach, inviting curiosity to come along each step. I love to understand the science behind mental health, as well as the things that cannot be described in clinical terms, only felt and experienced as part of the human condition. In undergraduate college, I majored in English and Psychology, and as a mental health provider, I get to merge my love of both fields. I pull from evidence-based, data driven techniques, as well as more experiential and expressive interventions, to move toward the change you are seeking.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is someone who is ready to be released from a self-limiting cycle to instead enter into the upward spiral of becoming their authentic self. I love working with clients who are ready to take a hard look inside and want to develop the insight to craft meaningful change. I find great success with clients who are willing and able to get creative and think outside of the traditional box.

Treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I enjoy using ACT to understand personal values and how to best match our decisions to honor those values. ACT allows us to hold space for the hard things while honoring commitments to ourselves.

EMDR

I find EMDR to be a wonderful tool to help identify and process the heavy events, thoughts, and beliefs that can get stuck. I like to view EMDR as a way to finally close out the tabs that stay open in the background of our lives that causing disruptions long after they have served their purpose. I enjoy how EMDR blends a cognitive (thinking) and somatic (body) approach to healing and has a structured plan to guide treatment.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

What I enjoy most about ERP is it helps you walk the walk, not just talk the talk. I use ERP to work with clients experiencing obsessive thoughts and/or compulsions. ERP very much reflect the concept that the only way out is through.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have been using DBT for 5+ years with clients to develop skills that promote wellbeing. I have found that clients who struggle with emotional regulation and being able to remain present benefit from DBT skills.

Compassion-Focused

I enjoy using compassion-focused therapy as I have learned that we cannot shame ourselves into lasting, healthy change. Practicing self-compassion can sound simple but usually feels more like radical act when we have become accustomed to responding with self-judgement and negative self-talk. I have seen some of the greatest healing occur when a client is able to shift from shame to compassion.
