MD, 30 years of experience
I am a board-certified psychiatrist who has been practicing for over thirty years. My training consisted in many rotations at Yale and the University of Illinois. Since training, I have spent most of my clinical practice in acute inpatient, which is high-intensity and the most conducive to perfecting my ability to practice psychiatry. I am motivated to provide the best and most effective method in treating psychiatric disorders.
My first session involves conducting a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. All aspects of the individual are taken into account. This consists of learning about upbringing, medical issues, psychological issues, occupational issues, previous psychiatric evaluations, and treatments. Additional information about the family will be obtained. Emphasis will be placed on the current symptoms and how they effect functioning and satisfaction with life. I will then present various treatment options, including the benefits and risks of each. During follow-up sessions, I will evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment and determine if there are any side effects or concerns. I will review additional options if the treatment is not going as expected. Between sessions, I encourage patients to contact me if there is a problem or if they are doing well. During the first session, I provide the person with multiple ways I could be reached.
My approach is laser-focused, precision medication management. In addition to my clinical expertise, I mentor medical students, residents, and fellow providers. I am an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Frank Netter School of Medicine. I plan to use all my clinical skills to help people achieve the maximum improvement in mental health. My experience encompasses most psychiatric disorders, but I am especially interested in depression. traumatic brain injury, and Bipolar Disorder. I am able to analyze what medications would be best. I am also able to maximize the effect of medications that patients are already on.
With precision medication management by a medically oriented physician who is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Frank Netter School of Medicine. As a medical doctor, I have undergone years of rigorous training, which included medical school, internship, and an extended residency. In contrast, nurse practitioners have received significantly less training and are not medical doctors (MDs). To receive the best care, always choose a medical doctor. See my reviews on ZOCDOC.

You can tell that Dr. Gold genuinely enjoys his work, his field, and helping people. This was my first time exploring this type of care, and I was a bit nervous prior. My nerves were eased within the first few minutes, he has a great understanding of issues, asks concise questions, listens intently, and provides feedback and options in a way that makes you feel in control and with hope.
