New to Grow
Have you ever felt alone, hopeless, angry, anxious, depressed, afraid, or overwhelmed? Have you ever felt that you just needed someone to talk to, someone who would really listen and not judge you? Today, one decision can change your life forever. You can overcome all your negative emotions and find your path to empowerment. Although therapy can be scary for many people, it can also be exciting. It can lead to self-discovery and an understanding of why you think, feel, and behave as you do. It can be a place of safety, one where you can open up and allow yourself to be vulnerable and accepted unconditionally. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and over the last 16 years, I have worked diligently to help others just like you confront their struggles and overcome their obstacles. I am licensed in the States of Georgia and Alabama and am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. My therapeutic interventions are CBT, DBT, and ACT. I have a passion for working with people who suffer from depression and anxiety. I believe that everyone can be empowered, regardless of who you are, your background, your race, your gender, your sexual orientation, or your beliefs. Your struggle may not be the same as another person’s, because everyone is unique. Regardless of this, you do have strengths. Let’s work together to discover your strengths so you can begin to live your best life.
The purpose of the first session is to establish rapport so you can begin to feel safe and comfortable in sharing personal information about yourself. I will review informed consent and confidentiality. You are free to ask any questions you desire. We will discuss your history and what you hope to accomplish during therapy. We will also collaborate in setting goals for treatment that will equip you to manage the challenges you are experiencing in your life. Remember, you are in control, and there is no reason to feel afraid. I am here to support you.
I am compassionate and non-judgmental and committed to helping my clients achieve the results they desire.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have utilized CBT over the last 15 years. CBT is very effective in treating depression and anxiety as well as other mental health conditions. It targets problems with negative thinking and behaviors, and helps provide problem-solving skills.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT provides practical skills to manage intense emotions and reduce negative behaviors.
Faith based therapy
Many clients find it helpful to incorporate their faith in their treatment. I have used this therapy for many years for clients who desire this approach and specifically request it.
