LISW, 7 years of experience
Hello there—I’m Laura. You might be finding yourself in that place where even simple things feel heavy. Maybe your anxiety has made it hard to focus, or depression has taken the motivation out of your mornings. If so, you’re not alone—and I’d love to connect with you. I earned my MSW from The Ohio State University in 2016, and I’ve spent the years since working with adults facing severe mental illness and addiction, adolescents and adults dealing with acute trauma, and folks managing anxiety or depression. What’s kept me grounded in this work is the opportunity to build relationships and support lasting change. My approach? Warm, collaborative, and grounded in your reality. I'm here to listen—without judgment—and work together to build strategies that bring relief, hope, and progress. If this feels like a place you'd like to explore, please feel free to reach out. I’m happy to talk through what support could look like for you.
During our first session, we’ll start by exploring your goals for therapy—what you hope to get out of this experience and what a positive path forward looks like for you. The next couple of sessions will focus on getting to know each other better and gaining a deeper understanding of your history, strengths, and life context. I’ll guide the way, while honoring your pace, voice, and autonomy.
I have worked in a variety of professional settings—including community‑based programs, residential facilities, and hospital environments—drawing on trauma‑informed principles to shape safe, strengths‑focused care. I am trained in a wide array of evidence‑based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, mindfulness‐based approaches, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), among others. This diverse skill set enables me to tailor treatment plans to each individual’s unique needs and wellness journey.
With a foundation in trauma-informed care, I have supported diverse populations—including survivors of trauma and abuse, individuals in mental health crises, and those with serious mental illnesses or substance use issues. My practice is for the adult population including LGBTQ+ communities, addressing conditions from generalized anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder to schizophrenia and co‑occurring disorders.
