In our first therapy session, you can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where we’ll begin to build trust and establish a comfortable space for you to share your thoughts and feelings. We’ll start by discussing the reason you sought therapy, your goals for our work together, and any specific challenges or concerns you’re facing. I’ll also ask about your background and life context to gain a holistic understanding of your situation. This session is not about jumping into solutions immediately, but rather about getting to know you and creating a collaborative plan for how we can work together toward your goals. You can also expect to have the opportunity to ask any questions or express any concerns you might have about the process. My aim is for you to leave the session feeling understood, supported, and clear on the next steps in our work together.

My extensive experience spans various therapeutic settings. I have served as a School Counselor, providing crucial support to students; a Crisis Intervention Specialist, managing high-pressure situations effectively; and a Behavioral Therapist in a school-based health clinic, where I implemented personalized interventions to enhance student well-being. Additionally, I have worked in community therapy, delivering vital mental health services to underserved populations.

I emphasize on empowering clients to become their own agents of change. Through skill-building and self-reflection, clients learn how to recognize and modify negative thinking and coping patterns, which can significantly improve their overall well-being.

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivational interviewing to create a space where clients feel heard and respected, and where they are encouraged to explore their own motivations for change rather than feeling pressured or judged.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use SFBT as a way to help clients clarify their goals, recognize their strengths, and develop concrete strategies for achieving positive outcomes.

Grief Therapy

I approach each client’s grief journey with sensitivity, respect, and individualized care. I offer a safe and supportive space for clients to process their emotions, make sense of their loss, and ultimately find a way to live meaningfully in the face of that loss.
