New to Grow
Hello , I am Lesley. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Indiana Wesleyan University. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Indiana University. I have over 10 years of experience working with individuals. My career began working with children and their families in the Child Welfare System and Foster Care System. I went on to provide individual counseling in the school setting and social work in the hospital setting. My areas of expertise include: stress management, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, behavior management, suicidal ideation, adoption and foster care, ADHD, addiction, and trauma. I utilize a multidimensional approach to therapy, exploring individual’s biological, psychological, and social needs. I desire to work alongside her clients to assist them in healing from trauma, building self-worth, improving communication in their relationships, and reaching their personal goals. My intensive clinical training and therapeutic skills help many people navigate through life’s inherent up and downs, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Coping Skills Development with a Solution-Focused approach. Lesley is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trust Based Relational Interventions (TBRI), Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and Canine Therapy. I have Registered Therapy Dog named Teddy who has been working alongside of me for 7 years. Teddy loves working with people and brings joy to most everyone he encounters. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my kids and dogs. I enjoy exploring the coastline with my family and traveling any opportunity I get.
A first session would be to provide background information, discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, and set initial goals.
As a therapist, I strive to create a safe, supportive space where both children and adults can explore their challenges, build resilience, and move toward lasting change. My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a practical and evidence-based method that helps clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. With a background specializing in anxiety, depression, and trauma, I work collaboratively with each client to identify patterns, develop coping strategies, and strengthen their sense of self. Whether I’m helping a child learn new ways to manage big feelings or supporting an adult in overcoming long-standing struggles, my goal is always the same: to empower you to feel more confident, capable, and connected in your everyday life.
I work with a broad rage of clients from adolescent to adults.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented type of talk therapy. It can help manage mental health conditions and emotional concerns. It is a collaborative approach that helps clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected, and how changing unhelpful thinking patterns can lead to better emotional and behavioral outcomes.
