Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. In my 15+ years of experience I’ve worked with adolescents, adults, couples and families to identify challenges and use their strengths and values to overcome them. I have experience working with clients who are having mental health or emotional challenges that affect work, school, home, and community relationships and success. I also have experience with athletes being a former professional athlete myself. My goal is always to partner with clients to identify the problem, manage emotions related to the problem and develop and implement strategies to decrease or eliminate the problem.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will start we will get to know each other through conversation. We will then dive into presenting problem and it’s affects on the client.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with clients from all walks of life and who have had a wide range of challenges, I am able to empathize with their feelings. I try to see the challenge from the client’s perspective in order to help them find the root cause of the challenges and create a plan to overcome them.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with couples, families and individuals who are looking to learn new tools and skills to improve their life. My clients may have challenges in all areas of life or may be struggling to make a decision about one area. My clients encompass all stages of the family life cycle and includes children, parents and empty nesters.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my 15 plus years experience working in this model with adults, and adolescents, I’ve found it to be easy to get clients to engage. Cognitive behavioral has many different aspects that encourage collaboration between the provider and the client. I enjoy the structure of the model and the consistent evaluation of progress and planning. I incorporate other models of treatment that are based on this model such as schema therapy.

Family Therapy

I have 15 plus years working with families with children in many different situations including foster care, adoption, divorce, family conflict, and school issues. I use various family therapy techniques to look at the entire family system and work with members to gain perspectives that can improve the family dynamics.

Motivational Interviewing

This model has been very effective in engaging individual’s motivation for change and using this information to collaborate and plan treatment with the client. Meeting the clients where they are in the process of making change, allows them freedom to choose the path towards improvement.
