Jenelle Coolidge is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS)and I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, trauma, and chronic health conditions, mood and anxiety disorders. I also like to be an active member to help support awareness for eating disorder recovery and I am part of the National Alliance for Eating Disorders(Orlando Affiliates) and a member of the international association of eating disorder professionals. I also enjoy taking an integrative approach with clients and mixing several techniques such as EMDR, parts work, ACT, DBT, expressive arts, and trauma focused techniques.
In the first session we will have brief introductions followed by an intake assessment. After that we discuss follow up sessions, treatment goals, and recommended plan.
With extensive experience in the mental health field, I bring a compassionate and empathetic approach to therapy. As a clinician that recovered from an eating disorder and someone living with an autoimmune disorder, I deeply understand the challenges of navigating complex health journeys. My goal is to instill hope and resilience in clients during their most difficult moments, fostering a therapeutic environment where healing and growth are possible.
I am dedicated to working with clients who are committed to the therapeutic process and are ready to invest the time and effort necessary for meaningful change. Recognizing that perfection is not the goal, I strive to create a safe, empathetic, and collaborative environment where open communication is encouraged, allowing us to tailor our approach to your unique needs and journey.
I was trained in 2021 and have been using it weekly since I believe in it's effective use in healing clients.
I highly believe it helps increase cognitive flexibility and emotional tolerance.
I believe in its ability to help the client address thoughts that are causing harm and discomfort.
I try to incorporate DBT techniques in each session for emotional tolerance and cognitive tolerance. I also find it helpful for codependency and people pleasing.
I used this trauma focused technique while working in community mental health with at high risk youth.
