In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session we will check for compatibility and work on establishing rapport. We will work on gathering information and a plan for the further sessions. I make sure the first session is a collaborative, safe, and supportive space where I make sure individuals feel heard, respected, and validated. I do foster open communication in all sessions without judgment, allowing clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences freely.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have been a therapist for almost two decades and my greatest strength is my years of experience as well as I am a therapist who makes sure clients are being heard, actively listening while also being empathetic. The sessions are guided by empathy, active listening, and tailored interventions that meet the client’s unique needs, promoting self-awareness, growth, and meaningful progress toward their goals.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am the ideal therapist for POC individuals and LGBTQ individuals because I foster a space that is affirming, culturally competent, and rooted in genuine empathy. I am a therapist who constantly seeks continual self-education to understand the unique experiences and systemic challenges these communities face which include actively listening without judgment, and validating their identities and lived experiences. I also promote healing but I am also an advocate for equity, resilience, and empowerment within and beyond therapy sessions.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I help clients identify and build on their strengths to create solutions rather than focusing on problems. I work with clients on creating small, achievable steps, reinforcing progress and empowering clients to harness their own resources for positive change.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and beliefs that influence their emotions and behaviors. I make sure to guide clients to recognize cognitive distortions while helping to develop healthier thinking habits, and practice coping strategies. My focus is on building practical skills to manage stress, improve mood, and promote behavior change.

Narrative

I help clients explore and reframe the personal stories they tell about their lives by identifying dominant narratives that may be limiting or negative. I support clients in separating themselves from their problems and discovering alternative, empowering perspectives while enabling clients to recognize their strengths, values, and abilities, fostering personal growth and resilience.
