New to Grow
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, and emotional challenges. I provide a supportive, collaborative space where clients can build insight, develop practical coping skills, and feel empowered in their healing process. My goal is to help clients strengthen emotional resilience, improve self-awareness, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to feel a mix of emotions before your first session. My goal is to make your initial appointment feel comfortable, supportive, and low-pressure. In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and discussing what brought you to therapy. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you feel ready to share. There’s no expectation to have everything figured out or to tell your entire story right away. We’ll talk about your current concerns, what you’re hoping to gain from therapy, and any questions you may have about the process. I’ll also review important information such as confidentiality, my approach to therapy, and how sessions typically work. This is a collaborative space, so you’re encouraged to ask questions and share what feels most important to you. My role is to listen, offer guidance, and help you feel safe and understood. By the end of the session, we may begin identifying initial goals and discussing what future sessions could look like, but there is no pressure to commit to anything immediately. Many clients leave their first session feeling a sense of relief, clarity, or reassurance—knowing they’ve taken a meaningful step toward caring for their mental and emotional well-being. Above all, the first session is about creating a foundation of trust and understanding. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, and we’ll take things one step at a time.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is the balance I bring between clinical skill and genuine human understanding. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Instead, I meet clients where they are and tailor the work to their unique experiences, needs, and goals. My style is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed, creating a space where clients feel safe enough to be honest and supported enough to grow. As a woman and a mother, I bring a deep level of empathy to my work—especially with women navigating identity shifts, emotional overload, burnout, and the constant pressure of caring for others while trying to care for themselves. I understand firsthand how life transitions, mental load, and unspoken expectations can impact emotional well-being. This lived experience allows me to connect with clients in a way that feels real, validating, and grounded. Clinically, I integrate evidence-based approaches such as CBT and mindfulness-based interventions to help clients manage anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I focus not only on insight, but on helping clients build practical, sustainable skills they can use in their everyday lives. Clients often tell me they appreciate my ability to explain concepts in an approachable way and to help them apply tools outside of session. What truly sets my work apart is my belief that healing happens through both understanding and compassion. I help clients recognize patterns without judgment, develop self-trust, and create meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable. My goal is not to “fix” clients, but to support them in reconnecting with their strengths, finding balance, and building a life that feels more aligned and fulfilling.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with women and adults who are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or stuck during challenging seasons of life. You may be living with anxiety or depression that makes it hard to enjoy daily life, or you may be navigating a major life transition—such as changes in relationships, career shifts, motherhood, identity development, or personal loss—and finding it difficult to feel steady or confident in yourself. Many of the women and adults I support have spent years caring for others, holding everything together, or pushing through stress while ignoring their own emotional needs. You might feel disconnected from yourself, struggle with self-doubt, or carry unresolved experiences that continue to affect how you think, feel, and relate to others. Trauma—whether from past experiences or more recent events—can show up as constant worry, low mood, emotional numbness, or difficulty feeling safe and grounded. I provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, be heard, and begin to understand your emotional world more clearly. My approach is trauma-informed and collaborative, combining practical tools to help manage anxiety and depression with deeper work focused on healing, self-compassion, and personal growth. Together, we will explore patterns that no longer serve you, strengthen emotional awareness, and build coping strategies that support long-term well-being. For women navigating life transitions or women’s-specific concerns, therapy can be a place to reconnect with your voice, establish healthier boundaries, and rediscover balance and self-trust. You do not need to have everything figured out to begin—just a willingness to show up and care for yourself in a new way. If you are ready to invest in your healing and want a therapist who will meet you with warmth, understanding, and support, I may be a good fit for you.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a structured, evidence-based approach to help clients understand the relationship between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In my practice, I use CBT to support clients in identifying unhelpful or distorted thinking patterns, increasing awareness of behavioral responses, and developing practical coping strategies. I tailor CBT interventions to the individual client’s needs, developmental level, and presenting concerns. This may include cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, skills building, psychoeducation, and the use of between-session practice or homework when appropriate. I emphasize collaboration and transparency, helping clients understand the rationale behind interventions and empowering them to apply skills outside of session. I integrate CBT within a trauma-informed and client-centered framework, adjusting pacing and techniques to ensure emotional safety and engagement. CBT is often used alongside other therapeutic approaches when clinically appropriate, allowing flexibility while maintaining a goal-oriented and outcomes-focused treatment process.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I have experience using mindfulness-based therapy to help clients increase present-moment awareness, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance. In my practice, I incorporate mindfulness techniques to support clients in developing greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations without judgment, which can reduce reactivity and promote intentional responding. Mindfulness-based interventions may include guided breathing exercises, grounding techniques, body awareness practices, and brief mindfulness exercises integrated into session. I tailor these practices to the client’s comfort level, cultural background, and clinical needs, and I introduce mindfulness gradually to ensure safety and engagement, particularly for clients with trauma histories. I use mindfulness both as a standalone skill and in conjunction with other therapeutic approaches, such as CBT or trauma-informed care, to enhance emotional regulation and self-compassion. Clients are encouraged to practice skills between sessions when appropriate, with an emphasis on practicality and real-world application.
