Hi there! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Richmond, Virginia. I received my undergraduate degree from Christopher Newport University and earned my Masters in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. With more than 6 years of practice experience, I help children, adolescents, and young adults with untangling difficult issues and finding a path toward a better version of their lives, whatever that means for each person!
In our first session together, I want to get an idea of who you are and what you want out of therapy. I want to kickstart a relationship that is based on acceptance, trust, and communication. With this foundation, we can establish goals and a vision of the path forward.
With years of experience helping children/teens in crisis, I prioritize a positive, compassionate, and practical approach to difficult situations. My goal is to empower you to make strides, whether that is baby steps or giant leaps, toward a better future.
I love working with children and teenagers. My ideal clients are those looking to gain awareness into themselves and their situation. I hope to find those “lightbulb” moments and encourage clients to create positive change.

A Humanistic approach is the belief that you are the expert in your life. I use this modality to guide clients where they want to go. It is about unlocking potential and using your gifts and strengths to enhance your life. If you’re not sure what that looks like, that’s okay! I’m also here to help you envision what that might look like.
I use this well-researched method as a way to view stressors and systematically treat anxiety and depression symptoms in clients of all ages. As Lao Tzu said, “ Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny.” I love helping clients kickstart this chain reaction to create a better life for themselves!
DBT focuses on finding the peace amidst complicated emotions. I use this framework to enhance awareness and then create resilience when life has become overwhelming. There are many techniques I have used with children and teens in moments of crisis and know how helpful this treatment can be!
I have received thorough training and am working toward certification in this treatment method. TF-CBT is an effective way to address trauma symptoms in children up to 18. It involves the careful unfolding of a traumatic experience and repairing its negative impacts within the mind, body, and environment.
