I am a licensed mental health counselor and licensed clinical addiction counselor in Indiana. I primarily help clients with depression, anxiety, grief and addiction, including those with a history of trauma. I have 7 years of experience in inpatient, crisis management, detox, intensive outpatient and residential treatment. I have worked with adults of all ages. I have experience with groups, individuals, couples and family therapy. I help individuals and families come together.
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I begin the therapy relationship by helping you explore your goals and strengths. Don't let this sound intimidating. I can read the room and adjust to a style that makes you most comfortable. If you are a natural talker, I can actively listen and use questions and feedback. If you are naturally more quiet or less likely to take the lead, I can easily provide the structure in session that helps you find your voice and begin setting and reaching goals.
My work and life experiences have molded my therapeutic style. My greatest strength is an ability to connect with people in an authentic way. I have a genuine compassion and empathy for people who are hurting. My clients can feel that. That is not something you can fake. While I bring valuable clinical skills and knowledge that help clients heal, the work that is done in session would not be productive without trust and comfort.
I enjoy working with clients whose lives have been impacted by addiction, depression and anxiety. My clients are often exhausted from trying to willpower through. They want to live a life that is content and connected to others, but their internal struggles have isolated and tormented them, making it difficult or impossible to live the meaningful lives they want. I help clients unpack and process painful memories. We set goals for the future and identify realistic steps to make those goals a reality.

Cognitive behavioral therapy teaches us how to recognize and change thoughts that are interconnected to feelings. By exploring thoughts and beliefs, you can make powerful changes to meet your current goals. I use several modalities of therapy, with CBT the most frequent and effective treatment method.
