Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC and LMHP) and Dialectical Behavior Therapist (C-DBT, in pursuit of LBC). I have 15 years working in Community Mental Health with folks experiencing severe mental illness symptoms. In this time, I've accumulated extensive experience utilizing DBT, Radically Open DBT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative and Mindfulness based therapy modalities. I graduated from Radford University with my MA in Community Mental Health Counseling, and have practiced in VA, WA. I excel in aiding with intense, overwhelming emotions . This is inclusive of, but not limited to; BPD, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Suicidal Ideation, Self-Harm, Disassociation.
In our first session, our agenda will be to have brief introductions, and then I want to dive in and get to know your goals, challenges, strengths, and circumstances. I am happy to explore with you whether you feel DBT skills and approach is a good fit for you, based on your current experience and challenges.
I am honored to assist, and have extensive experience with aiding, folks whom experience Severe Emotional Dysregulation, and are ready to work, with me as their guide, for big change. I meet you from a strengths based, behavioral perspective, which means less time with feelings of shame and judgement and quicker access to your goals. Within the last 15 years, I've been honored to assist many clients in building the skills needed to create and maintain their best life, relationships, and knowledge of self. I excel in aiding my clients with education to understand current challenges with empathy and compassion, and use skills to reorient toward the desired goals. If you are looking for big changes, and have heavy, overwhelming feelings, know I am here to help, and we've got the tools we need. I am fully committed to being aware of, and sensitive to, how my background and experiences may differ from those of my clients, and to work collaboratively with clients of all backgrounds and identities.
