(he/him)
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience helping adults navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, identity, and life transitions. I have a strong commitment to affirming and supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, and much of my work centers on helping clients explore identity, manage minority stress, and heal from systemic and interpersonal harm. My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I aim to create a space where clients feel empowered, supported, and able to move toward meaningful change.
Our first session is all about getting to know each other. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you're hoping to work on, and any questions or concerns you have about the process. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—this is your space, and we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you. I’ll also go over confidentiality, structure, and what you can expect moving forward so you leave feeling informed and supported.
I bring a combination of clinical experience, cultural humility, and curiosity to the work I do. My strengths lie not just in the evidence-based methods I use, but in my ability to adapt them to meet each client where they are. I stay committed to learning and growing as a clinician—but I don’t expect clients to educate me about their identities or experiences. Instead, I create space where their stories are honored without being extracted, and where therapy becomes a collaborative, respectful process. My work is deeply rooted in integrity, accountability, and the belief that change is possible—even when the systems around us say otherwise.
You’re introspective, insightful, and maybe a little tired of pretending everything is fine. You might be navigating issues tied to identity, relationships, or past trauma, and you're ready to unpack what’s no longer working. My ideal clients are often LGBTQ+ individuals, deep thinkers, or those who’ve felt out of place in systems that weren’t built with them in mind. You’re not looking for a quick fix—you want a space that honors your complexity and supports you in creating real, lasting change. If that sounds like you, we’ll likely work well together.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a core component of my clinical approach. With over two decades of experience in behavioral health, I’ve utilized CBT across a wide range of client populations and presenting concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use disorders. My experience with CBT includes both structured, manualized interventions and more flexible, integrative applications tailored to individual needs. I regularly use tools such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, thought records, and exposure techniques. I also integrate mindfulness-based strategies and motivational interviewing to support clients in identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns, while developing adaptive coping skills. In practice, I emphasize collaboration and transparency. Clients are active participants in identifying their cognitive distortions, tracking behavioral patterns, and experimenting with new ways of thinking and responding. I find this empowers clients, fosters insight, and promotes lasting change. Whether in individual therapy or group settings, I work to ensure CBT techniques are accessible, culturally responsive, and grounded in each client’s unique goals and context.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
Culturally sensitive therapy is foundational to my practice. I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, respected, and empowered to bring their full identities into the therapeutic process. This includes honoring cultural values, exploring the impact of systemic oppression, and adapting interventions to align with each client's lived experience. I approach each client with humility, curiosity, and a commitment to ongoing learning around culture, identity, and intersectionality.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I regularly incorporate Solution-Focused Brief Therapy in my work, particularly when clients are seeking practical, goal-oriented support. SFBT aligns well with my strengths-based approach, helping clients identify existing resources, exceptions to problems, and actionable steps toward their preferred future. I use targeted questions to amplify what’s already working and support clients in building momentum toward meaningful change, even in short-term treatment settings.
