Deciding to come to therapy can be a scary decision. One may ask questions like, "Can I open up to someone I don't know?" or "Will I be able to share what's on my mind?" In my view, acknowledging that the time has come to make changes in your life is a first step in working towards a happier more fulfilled life. It often takes courage to make that step because deciding to make changes, even positive ones, have you moving into the unknown. You may be experiencing concerns with relationships, loss, school or work. The issues may contribute to you feeling overwhelmed, anxious or depressed. From those feelings, you may be tired of feeling worn down from carrying too much on your own. You may be feeling alone, or confused due to unresolved situations that have gone on for a long time or you may be in a situation that is new to you and you’d benefit by talking about it with someone new, like a therapist. I have been both a therapist and a high school counselor in a combined total of 25 years, so I have experience working with teens to adults. I am here to share your troubled times with you as well as your empowerment moments!
