New to Grow
I am a clinical mental health counselor in training, currently studying at Johns Hopkins University. I am passionate about supporting individuals through life’s challenges by creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. My approach is collaborative and integrative, drawing from evidence-based methods such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care to meet each person’s unique needs. I am committed to helping clients build resilience, improve emotional well-being, and move toward meaningful personal growth.
In our first session, my goal is to create a comfortable and supportive environment where you feel safe sharing your story. We’ll spend time getting to know each other, discussing what brings you to therapy, and exploring your goals and hopes for the process. I’ll ask questions to better understand your background, current challenges, and strengths, while also giving you space to share at your own pace. Together, we’ll begin to outline a plan that feels tailored to your needs and sets the foundation for our work. Most importantly, the first session is about building trust and ensuring you feel heard, respected, and supported.
Clients often describe me as warm, energetic, and deeply supportive. I bring genuine motivation and positivity into the therapy space, helping clients feel encouraged and empowered throughout their journey. One of my greatest strengths is building strong, trusting relationships — I work hard to create a safe environment where clients feel comfortable opening up and exploring even the most difficult experiences. By combining evidence-based approaches with compassion and authenticity, I help clients feel understood while guiding them toward meaningful and lasting change.
I work best with individuals who are motivated to make positive changes in their lives, even if they feel uncertain about where to start. Many of my clients experience challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, life transitions, or the lingering effects of trauma. I also enjoy supporting parents and caregivers who are balancing multiple roles and responsibilities, as well as young adults navigating identity, career, and relationship challenges. My ideal clients are open to exploring new perspectives, developing healthier coping strategies, and working collaboratively toward their goals in a supportive and compassionate space.
"In my clinical practice, I draw from a range of evidence-based treatment methods tailored to each client’s unique needs. I have extensive experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, and stress. I also incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques, such as emotion regulation and distress tolerance skills, particularly with clients struggling with intense emotions or interpersonal conflict. For clients who have experienced trauma, I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to facilitate adaptive processing of distressing memories and reduce the intensity of trauma-related symptoms. Additionally, I integrate mindfulness practices to promote grounding, self-awareness, and resilience, which can be especially helpful in managing anxiety and improving overall well-being. When appropriate and in collaboration with medical providers, I support clients in their medication management, ensuring treatment is holistic and coordinated.
