I am a seasoned, supportive, and well experienced licensed mental health therapist, having worked in private practice for many years in AZ. I am an expert listener, and enjoy working with adults 18-older ages who are experiencing difficult symptoms associated with past or present life challenges that require intervention and processing in ways that may restore a greater life balance and well being.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I would like to get to know you regarding what you feel are your unique and specific main problems, symptoms, and issues that need to be dealt with in therapy, as well as any past or present problems or challenges that may contribute to these. I will also ask you about your personal strengths and weaknesses. We will also begin to explore what you want on your treatment plan, as well as any goals and objectives you have for therapy, and the best treatment approach for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am a supportive non judgmental therapist with an ear for helping clients change how they may think or behave so they can improve their self images and relational images with others. I let you take the lead while helping you discover what you can realistically change, and what you can do differently behaviorally and cognitively to improve quality of life. Also, I will explore what lifestyle practices are working for you, and any that you are aware of that are not working for you, while adding this to the treatment planning.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve adult clients 18 and up who are experiencing mild to moderate symptoms of depression and/or anxiety and are motivated to seek restorative therapy. My ideal clients seek individual therapy.

Barbara hit the ground running on several issues that have lagged for me. She knew what she needed to do before we got on the call. Barbara if you read this, the medications issue is time sensitive: Refills of alprazalam, propranolol, zolpidem and buspirone. I DID NOT SLEEP AT ALL LAST NIGHT BECAUSE I DON"T HAVE THESE MEDICATIONS TO HELP ME GET RESTED. Thank you.

Today was my first session with Barbara, she is a very warm person and didn't make it feel cold. She is goal oriented and helps guide you into a solution but not by hand holding. I look forward to our next appointment!
