Welcome! I'm Markesha. Lets, just take a pause to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health. I know that starting therapy can make you feel empowered, curious, progressive and all other sorts of emotions at the same time! I purpose to create a welcoming virtual therapy space that allows clients to explore their challenges and strengths while exploring their presenting problems. I focus on helping clients navigate their healing journey with empathy, insight, and psychoeducation.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions and I will share some foundational information about therapy. We will also discuss any current challenges that you are facing. This will help me create a tailored treatment plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have 20 plus years in the field which has given me the opportunity to amass some valuable resources and clinical skills. Although this is true, one of my true strengths is my desire to meet clients where they are and to understand their unique needs.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is to be used in the treatment space as a guide. As your therapist, I will emphasize the impact that thoughts, behaviors, and emotions have on situations as well as each other. I have used CBT consistently during my therapy training and still today working in my practice.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have experienced extensive training in TFCBT. I have had the opportunity to work with clients from various backgrounds and cultures as they addressed their traumas. I was first introduced to TFCBT in 2007. I have continued to incorporate this treatment method to applicable clients.
