About me

Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor/Candidate (LPC-S/C) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida. I have roughly 11 years of experience treating anxiety and depression in adults. I love working with adults who have survived past trauma as I provide clients with skills to help regulate the nervous system before we even process past trauma. This helps the person to stay grounded and become more confident in regulating their own emotional state.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is informational about therapy, you will be able to sit back for some of it as I get all the ‘housekeeping’ things in order. Then, we will start to talk about what types of things bring you to therapy. From there we will look at past history and then what you want to accomplish in therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a provider are that I am extremely open minded and strive to provide safety in each session.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

The clients I typically see are adults, 18+, who are experiencing anxiety and depression. Many times my clients also experience self-esteem issues and even though they see their potential, self-limiting beliefs prevent them from getting unstuck.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My approach to therapy is to provide a space where clients can come to talk about and explore parts of themselves that they may not be able to share with anyone else. I use humor in my sessions and also hold space for expression of what is coming up in the moment. You will find that I use a lot of grounding techniques and develop a firm foundation of skills before we ever start working on trauma. I pull from a mix of Evidenced Based Practices to form a client-centered approach. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy looks deeper into how thoughts affect feelings and behaviors. Together we will create a goal for how you would like to feel and will use CBT techniques to achieve this.
