Hi! I'm Dr. Linda Koenig and I have over two decades of experience helping adolescents and adults navigate anxiety, mood concerns, trauma, and complex life transitions in both community and university settings. I offer evidence-based, practical support that balances warmth, clear feedback, and real-world skills clients can use right away. I have extensive experience working with people involved in the legal system, college students facing stress and identity questions, and individuals managing long-standing emotional or behavioral patterns, always focusing on safety, resilience, and client strengths. Clients often appreciate my collaborative style, my ability to explain things in down-to-earth language, and my commitment to tailoring the counseling process to each person’s goals, culture, and values.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session with me, we’ll focus on getting to know you as a whole person—not just a diagnosis—by talking about what brought you in, what your life looks like right now, and what you’re hoping will feel different. I’ll ask about your strengths, supports, and past experiences with counseling, as well as any specific concerns you want to address, so we can begin to understand your story together. We’ll then collaborate to clarify your goals for therapy, discuss how I work, and agree on a plan for moving forward at a pace that feels safe, respectful, and genuinely helpful to you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What makes me unique as a therapist is the blend of deep clinical experience and genuine down-to-earth warmth I bring to each session. I’m skilled at clear assessment, practical problem-solving, and evidence-based care, but I never lose sight of the human being in front of me. Clients often find that I’m able to hold space for hard stories with calm, nonjudgmental presence while also offering concrete tools, honest feedback, and a steady belief in their capacity to grow, even when life has felt chaotic or stacked against them.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I especially enjoy collaborating with client's who are motivated to make positive change whether that is working through distress and traumatizing events, navigating a life-challenge, or getting unstuck from anxiety, mood, relationship, or behavioral problems. My ideal client recognizes that their current ways of thinking, feeling, or behaving needs improvement, and is willing--however ambivalently--to show up, talk honestly, and experiment with new skills to move toward a life that fits their values and goals.
