New to Grow
My name is Brandon, and I am a licensed mental health counselor dedicated to helping clients navigate significant life transitions. These changes, whether in your friendships, relationships, family, or career, can look different for everyone and often bring on feelings of anxiety and stress. As a Black male therapist, I am passionate about serving all communities, but it's especially important to me to provide a safe and understanding space for people of color who have often felt overlooked by the mental healthcare system
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
My goal is to provide a warm, welcoming space where we can work together to find a clear path towards your therapeutic goals.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strengths as a therapist lie in my deep capacity for compassion and understanding, allowing me to meet every client exactly where they are without agenda. I prioritize creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel completely secure and accepted, knowing that whatever you bring into the room—your deepest fears, mistakes, or painful experiences—will be met with warmth and respect. This foundation of trust is essential, as it allows for the vulnerability necessary to truly process difficult emotions and experiences, ultimately guiding you along your personal path toward healing and self-discovery.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is someone who truly wants to try and is open to learning new ways to handle their feelings and problems. They show their commitment by regularly attending sessions and actively working on the suggested steps outside of therapy to help themselves. These clients are usually going through big life changes, such as a difficult breakup, dealing with the pain of loss, moving to a new area, or adjusting to major career or social shifts. While these changes often make them feel down, anxious, and hurt their confidence, their strong desire to improve makes them excellent partners for therapy, where they find meaningful and lasting solutions.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
The use of CBT helps my client’s to challenge negative thoughts, and replace them with more realistic and balanced alternatives, and develop tangible coping skills and behavioral experiments to gradually shift their emotional state and response to life's challenges.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
As a therapist I use ACT to help my clients with teaching acceptance and seeing distressing thoughts and feelings as passing mental events, not facts This helps reduces anxiety and depression. Your personal values is the center of your healing. Understanding how values can help shape the small steps towards your goals
