My counseling style is client centered, focusing on the needs and unique qualities of my client. I regard providing therapy as an honor and a privilege, and strive to treat every client with respect and acceptance. My therapeutic approach combines cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, family systems therapy, solution focused approaches, mindfulness, and EMDR, as fits the needs of my client.
The first session will consist of an intake evaluation to gather information about history and current presentation of symptoms, past treatment history, family background, and other relevant information. Together we will decide the treatment best suited to your needs!
My greatest strength as a provider is my belief that the client-therapist rapport is the first priority, and I get great satisfaction from helping clients identify strengths they already possess and empowering them to make the positive changes needed to reach their goals.
I have been working in the mental health field for 10 years. I have worked with teens and adults from many backgrounds with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, parenting and family communication issues, anger management, self-esteem, and adverse childhood experiences.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an evidence based treatment which allows clients to identify the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and learn skills to modify and replace with more helpful thoughts and behaviors, resulting in more positive emotional outcomes.
I have been an EMDR trained (in certification process) clinician since 2021. I offer it as a treatment for reprocessing traumatic memories to reduce emotional distress and and replace negative core beliefs with more adaptive/positive core beliefs
