Noel Tyler
Life can feel heavy when you're trying to keep up with work, family, relationships, and everything else on your plate. You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or wondering why things that used to feel manageable suddenly don't. Whatever you're carrying, you don't have to carry it alone. We'll work together to better understand what's getting in the way, find practical ways to cope, and help you feel more confident and in control of your life. I offer specialized treatment for trauma using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I also teach effective coping skills, such as, mindfulness, tapping, art therapy, and positive thinking.
First session
The first session will just be me getting to know you and what you would like help with. We may find things in common with each other that will strengthen the therapeutic relationship. I have had many life experiences to draw from. You will also learn a tool that you can take home with you at the first session.
Strengths
I bring a calm presence to the session. Checking in with you at the start of each session is important to me.
Ideal clients
The ideal client is one who is committed to the therapy process, which can take time. I work well with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, and trauma. At times there will be work given to be worked on in between appointments to better aid in solid life changes. If you are motivated for change, this is the place for you!
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
This method is used to change negative thought patterns, see situations differently, and correct unwanted behaviors.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
"Dialectical" means combining two opposite ideas at the same time: accepting your reality and working to change your behavior.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
The Goal: To replace conflict and distance with empathy, trust, and secure bonding.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing therapy focuses mostly of reversing the effects of trauma. It has other applications as well. Essentially the emotions and feelings attached to a trauma experience are desensitized so they no longer bother you, and you negative belief about yourself , when the trauma happened is replaced with a more positive belief.
