Welcome to PEACE BE STILL HOLISTIC HEALTH! I’m Natashja James, BSW, MS, LPC, RYT the Practice Owner and a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 12 years of experience in mental health counseling, education, and social work. My private practice is a confidential and supportive space where you can feel safe, heard, and valued. I support individuals seeking healing from anxiety, stress/burnout, and trauma, and I will help you explore relationship concerns, school/career challenges and life transitions. Whether you’re looking to restore balance or prioritize counseling as a form of self-care, I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey to greater peace.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and start building a connection. I’ll ask about what brings you to counseling and gather some background information to understand your needs better. We’ll explore your hopes for treatment by collaborating to set meaningful goals. This session is about creating a safe, supportive space where you feel comfortable sharing and starting your journey toward growth and healing.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to normalize therapy and break down the stigma often associated with help-seeking. I focus on creating an authentic and honest space that fosters trust and openness. My strong clinical skills, developed through a variety of experiences before opening my practice—including residential treatment, public/charter schools, colleges, in-home family therapy, outpatient therapy, and case management along with leadership roles as a counseling center director and supervisor for other clinicians—enable me to provide effective, personalized support.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I’m passionate about supporting young adults and especially strive to create an affirming space where BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ clients feel valued and understood. Whether you’re navigating academic pressures, adjusting to new roles, or working toward personal/professional growth, I’m here to help you build resilience, manage stress, and create a life that aligns with your values and goals.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

In my work as a school counselor, I used Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help students tackle challenges quickly and get back on track, focusing on their strengths and what was already working. Now, in my practice with adults, I take the same approach—helping you identify your goals, build on what’s going well, and create practical steps to move forward

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-centered, means you’re at the heart of everything we do. I provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where we focus on your unique experiences, strengths, and goals. Together, we work toward growth and healing at a pace that feels right for you, with me as a guide to help you uncover your own solutions.

Mind-body approach

As a holistic counselor, I draw on my yoga expertise to honor the connection between your mind, body, and spirit. Instead of focusing solely on symptoms or diagnoses, I look at how all aspects of your life are connected. Mental health is an integral part of your overall well-being, and this approach helps us explore that connection to support your healing and growth.
