My name is Amber Pestian, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families. I offer a supportive, client-centered space where people can explore life’s challenges and move toward healing. With over a decade of experience, I bring a compassionate, informed approach to every session—whether we’re working through mental health concerns, behavioral challenges, or relationship dynamics.
In our first session, you can expect a conversation that feels much like an initial visit to a doctor. I’ll ask a lot of questions to better understand what brought you to therapy, your background, and your goals. I also see this session as a two-way street—an opportunity for you to ask questions and make sure this feels like a good fit. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is key to success, and I aim to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable moving forward.
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to form genuine, meaningful connections with clients. I bring empathy, curiosity, and a nonjudgmental presence into each session. My time serving in the Peace Corps in Thailand as a Youth and Community Development Volunteer shaped my belief in “giving from the heart”—a philosophy I carry into my clinical work. I understand how vulnerable it can feel to start therapy, and I strive to make each person feel supported and safe from the very beginning
I have extensive experience working with school-aged children (K–12), having spent nearly 12 years as a school-based clinician. I specialize in supporting individuals experiencing behavioral and mental health issues and have a particular passion for working with youth in alternative school placements. These clients often face unique challenges and require deep empathy and persistence—qualities I bring to every session. I’m especially skilled at building strong rapport and trust, even with those who may initially be resistant or unsure about therapy.
