Hello, my name is David Metheny. I am a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. I am also a board-certified family nurse practitioner. I have over 30 years of experience in the mental health profession, and for the past 17 years, I have been working as a nurse practitioner in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings. I believe in a holistic approach to mental health care. I am offering telehealth medication management and psychotherapeutic interventions, emphasizing the importance of mindset and coping skills in achieving holistic well-being.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, and then dive into the specific challenges you are facing. We will spend a lot of time gathering psychiatric, social, medical, and family history. We will then work together to develop a plan to help you get to a better place. We will also work together to define the frequency of our follow-up visits.
I am passionate about empowering people to navigate life's challenges successfully. I strive to go beyond just prescribing medications. I want to address the underlying issues and provide comprehensive support. You can expect personalized care that focuses on equipping you with the tools you need to feel your best and thrive amidst life's adversities.
I have a lot of experience in treating anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, and addiction (substance use disorders).
Integrative therapy is a holistic approach to treatment, incorporating elements from different therapeutic models to best address the individual needs of a client. I use a blend of psychopharmacology, psychotherapeutic interventions, and self-care techniques to provide a comprehensive and flexible approach to treatment. This approach aims to promote healing and growth by considering the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit in the therapeutic process.
