Alisa Kim
Hello there. I am a therapist based in California holding an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker). I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis and have been practicing for 16 years, helping clients overcome a range of difficulties and challenges in their life journey. I work with families faced with different life challenges as well as individuals looking to explore self and others.
First session
The first session is mostly my in-depth intake assessment to get to know the client and the reasons for therapy.
Strengths
Experience, knowledge, and skill sets to help the client understand self and the core issues of the problems/difficulties.
Ideal clients
Adult men and women and families with/without elderly parents and/or young children looking to explore deeper into difficulties and challenges and possible remedies.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
If our inner feelings are byproducts of our logics, we can make a difference in re-examining the validity and logics of our natural built-in interpretations of external events and observations. It is one of the most powerful modality time and time again my clients saw a huge difference in their therapy.
Compassion-Focused
Almost all unwanted negative emotions lose power upon the compassion smears in whether it comes from others or one's self within. I help my clients experience what is like to be treated with compassion and find the inner source of compassion toward self and the otter world.
