New to Grow
I’m Tasha Valentino, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in helping individuals and couples break free from stress, anxiety, and relational patterns that no longer serve them. My approach is collaborative and empowering—I’ll help you understand the “why” behind your struggles and teach practical, effective tools to create meaningful shifts in your life and relationships. If you’re ready to feel more confident, connected, and emotionally supported, I’m here to help guide that process.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Your first session is an opportunity for us to connect and ensure that I am the right fit to support you. I’ll guide you through a gentle assessment, ask about what’s been challenging for you, and explore what a successful outcome would look like. Together, we’ll discuss therapeutic approaches that can help, and you’ll leave with an understanding of our next steps and what you can expect moving forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to create a deeply supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore difficult emotions and experiences. I’m attuned, compassionate, and skilled at helping clients identify patterns, understand their emotions, and build tools that lead to meaningful and lasting change.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal clients are those who are ready for change and want a therapist who will both support and gently challenge them. They may be experiencing stress, self-doubt, or relational difficulties, and they’re seeking clarity, confidence, and long-term tools for emotional well-being. They want to feel more in control of their lives and relationships.
Somatic
In my practice, I use somatic therapy to help clients better understand how emotional experiences are stored in the body and how physical cues often signal underlying stress, trauma responses, or dysregulation. I guide clients in noticing sensations such as tightness, heaviness, or constriction and help them explore these sensations with curiosity rather than avoidance. This process enhances emotional awareness and increases the capacity for regulation.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my practice, I use CBT to help clients increase awareness of the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I guide clients in identifying cognitive distortions, challenging unhelpful thinking patterns, and developing more balanced, realistic perspectives. This process empowers clients to respond more effectively to stressors and to develop healthier coping skills.
