New to Grow
I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Alabama with over six years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have experience supporting individuals and families navigating a wide range of mental and behavioral health concerns, including ADHD, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief, serious mental illness, family and relational challenges, gender and identity questions, and life transitions. My approach to therapy is inspired by the lotus—a symbol of renewal, resilience, and peace. In my practice, I create a safe and compassionate space where clients can explore their experiences, build coping skills, and move toward meaningful change. I draw on evidence-based therapies, including ACT, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing, tailoring treatment to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Your first session is an opportunity to get to know each other and start building a safe, supportive space. We’ll spend time talking about what brought you to therapy, your goals, and any challenges you’re currently facing. I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, background, and what you hope to achieve, while also giving you a chance to ask questions about therapy and my approach. Together, we’ll begin exploring strategies and tools that fit your needs, and we’ll start shaping a plan for how we can work toward your goals. The first session is also a chance for you to get a sense of what it feels like to work together, so you can decide if this is the right fit for you. Therapy is a collaborative process, and my goal is to make your first session feel safe, welcoming, and grounded in understanding.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I bring over six years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, which allows me to connect with clients across a wide range of experiences and life stages. One of my strengths is creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and understood. I combine empathy with practical, evidence-based strategies, helping clients not only process their experiences but also develop tools they can use in daily life. What sets me apart is my holistic, lotus-inspired approach to therapy—focused on renewal, resilience, and peace. I draw from a variety of evidence-based therapies, including ACT, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs. I also prioritize collaboration, helping clients identify their values, build confidence, and take meaningful steps toward the life they want. Whether someone is navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relational challenges, or life transitions, I strive to meet each client where they are and support them in finding balance, clarity, and empowerment.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Whether you’re managing everyday stressors, navigating life changes, or seeking deeper personal growth, my goal is to walk alongside you as you cultivate balance, clarity, and resilience.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I like using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) because it helps people change their relationship with their inner experiences instead of fighting them all the time. Many clients come in believing they have to get rid of anxiety, sadness, intrusive thoughts, or self-doubt before they can live the life they want. ACT gently flips that idea, teaching that discomfort is a normal part of being human—and that life can still be meaningful even when hard thoughts or feelings show up. ACT also emphasizes values and practical tools, helping clients take steps toward what matters most to them, even when things feel tough.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I like using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) because it helps people understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Many clients feel stuck in patterns that don’t serve them, and CBT offers practical, empowering tools to notice those patterns and make manageable changes. I appreciate how collaborative and skills-based CBT is—we work together to gently challenge unhelpful thinking and build coping strategies clients can use in real life. It’s not just about insight, but about learning tools that help people feel more confident navigating day-to-day challenges.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I like using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) because it helps people build practical skills for managing intense emotions, coping with distress, and navigating relationships more effectively. DBT is especially helpful for individuals with trauma histories and personality-related challenges, as it emphasizes emotional regulation, safety, and building a sense of stability. I appreciate how DBT balances acceptance and change—validating clients’ experiences while also teaching concrete tools that support healing, resilience, and more effective day-to-day coping.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I like using mindfulness-based therapy because it helps people slow down and develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and body sensations without judgment. Many clients feel overwhelmed or stuck in automatic patterns, and mindfulness offers practical tools to stay present and respond more intentionally rather than reacting on autopilot. I appreciate how grounding and flexible mindfulness-based approaches are, and how they support emotional regulation, self-compassion, and resilience in everyday life.
Motivational Interviewing
I like using Motivational Interviewing because it helps people explore their goals, clarify their values, and find their own motivation for change. It’s collaborative and non-judgmental, supporting clients in building confidence, resolving ambivalence, and taking meaningful steps toward the life they want.
