Hello, I'm Cristina Mazzeo! I see so many people who aren’t necessarily unwell, but feel trapped and unable to make progress in their lives. They’re "going through the motions" – and getting caught up in issues that they could actually solve quite easily. It breaks my heart when clients believe they can’t fix their unresolved issues – and that the history handed to them dictates their future. My gift is helping my clients recognize their unique mental strengths and natural skill sets, so they can navigate from the uncomfortable present toward a more empowered future.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first meeting serves as not just a get to know you - for me, but also a get to know me and how I can help - for you! After all, this type of work is intimate in nature and sometimes very difficult for those new to the realm of therapy . I want my clients to feel confident that they are in good hands, which in turn creates empowerment and excitement about the process of change. My goal is to identify the issue(s) bringing someone to treatment and provide at least one tool or awareness by the end of the first session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe my ability to simplify mindset and its innerworkings to clients is my strong suit. What is also very unique, to me, is that I used to be a hair stylist - so, what does that mean exactly? That means, i understand energy - when to dig deeper/challenge clients or create space, I understand the truth that may be occurring within the silence of a session, I see growth and possibility even when clients can't. Most of all, I recognize each client as a unique blueprint and treat them as such.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I believe that clients are truly the experts in their growth journey. My role, as a therapist, is to invoke thoughts and questions to create higher levels of awareness, along the way.

Integrative

Transformational change occurs when one understands how the mind (conscious vs subconscious ) relates to the body, whereby creating results. I have spent years learning to understand how all of this interplays and have brought that psycho-education into my practice for clients.
