New to Grow
This is not just a job for me, I am on a mission to help empower women in all areas of life. I know that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, so I work to create a space where you feel truly safe, heard, and challenged. Therapy is a partnership, and I’m here to show up for you, offering support and guidance as you work toward healing and growth.
So many people are anxious about their first therapy session. I'm not going to tell you not to be anxious because then what kind of therapist would I be? I can only tell you this... by the end of the first session, 100% of my clients are no longer anxious about being in therapy. During the first session, you will be able to share your story and talk about what you would like to work on in therapy. I will be there to guide you through the process so that it is not overwhelming for you. I look forward to meeting you!
I have been a therapist for quite some time. As a result, I have experience working with several populations and multiple different settings. With my experience and training, I filter through my rolodex of tools (better than an AI) and help my clients in ways specific to the person in front of me. I do not believe in one treatment modality. I have trainings in several areas so that I can help people in many different ways, unique to the person. The methods I utilize most are Trauma Focused CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Client Centered Therapy and IFS (Internal Family Systems).
My goal is to support women who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma from childhood or relationships. I often give homework so it is great when people are able to practice in between sessions. However, it is equally important to process what the barriers to not doing the homework if that is the case. Consistency in just "showing up" is the key to success!
I have extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I can teach you skills, give "homework" to practice with worksheets and even practice the skills in our session. The DBT skills I utilize the most are grounding skills, emotional regulation, and mindfulness.
I have recent training in Internal Family Systems which is helpful for when people feel "stuck" or are dealing with childhood trauma.
I believe that you are the expert in your life where you lead the general direction of therapy, while I guide gently and offer a safe space for you to share your thoughts and feelings. The goal is to focus on self awareness, and self acceptance to attain personal growth.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that is specifically designed to address symptoms from trauma, such as flashbacks, hypervigilance, and avoidance behaviors. This therapy has been proven effective in reducing symptoms of PTSD, depression, and anxiety.
