I help high-achieving women move from feeling overwhelmed and stuck to feeling calm, confident, and in control of their lives. Many of my clients are navigating divorce, breakups, or major life transitions and are ready to rebuild, not stay in confusion or dysfunction. They’ve already made the decision to leave unhealthy relationships and are now focused on healing, identity, peace, and purpose. You’re looking for more than just a space to talk. You want practical tools, emotional support, and a results-driven approach. In therapy, we create strategies to help you manage mild anxiety, stress, overwhelm, burnout, and adjustment-related challenges, while building self-trust, boundaries, and emotional independence. I understand these transitions on a personal level. I’ve walked through divorce, burnout, and seasons of carrying it all alone. Because of that, I offer a grounded, relatable approach where you can be vulnerable and honest while still being challenged to grow. If you’re ready to step into the next chapter of your life with clarity and confidence, I’d be honored to support you.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session is focused on helping you feel comfortable, understood, and clear about next steps. We’ll spend time discussing what brought you to therapy, the life transition you’re navigating (such as divorce, a breakup, or a major change), and what you’d like to feel different moving forward. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to better understand your stressors, patterns, and goals, while also getting a sense of what’s working well for you. This is not a session for convincing you to stay in a relationship or rehashing old dynamics. We focus on you, your healing, and where you’re headed next. By the end of the session, you can expect to leave with increased clarity, a sense of direction, and an initial plan for how we’ll work together. We’ll also discuss session frequency (weekly or biweekly), goals for therapy, and ensure this feels like the right fit for your needs.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strength is my ability to combine a warm, relatable presence with a clear, results-driven approach. I help high-functioning women gain clarity, reduce overwhelm, and build confidence during major life transitions by offering practical tools alongside emotional support. I’m skilled at helping clients move out of overthinking and self-doubt and into grounded decision-making, healthy boundaries, and emotional independence. Clients often value that therapy with me is structured, honest, and forward focused, designed to help them feel calmer, more confident, and in control of their lives, not stuck in the same patterns.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal clients are high-functioning, motivated women who are navigating life after divorce, a breakup, or a major life transition and are ready to focus on themselves. You may be experiencing mild anxiety, stress, or overwhelm related to changes in relationships, career, motherhood, or identity, but are emotionally stable and ready to engage in meaningful therapy. When it comes to troubled relationships, you have already chosen to move forward and want support in rebuilding confidence, setting boundaries, rediscovering your identity, and creating a calm, fulfilling life. You value consistency, insight, and practical tools, and are ready to commit to weekly or biweekly sessions to support growth and lasting change.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Integrating Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) into my practice involves creating a positive and optimistic environment where you are motivated to identify your strengths and develop your own solutions. This approach aims to build your sense of empowerment and self-assurance as you strive to reach your goals and bring about positive changes in your life.
Supportive
Supportive therapy is a therapeutic approach designed to offer emotional support, encouragement, and understanding to individuals dealing with various challenges, stressors, or life difficulties. In my practice, I emphasize building a strong therapeutic alliance, validating clients' experiences, and providing practical assistance. This approach is versatile and can be integrated into various therapeutic modalities to address each client's unique needs. By incorporating supportive therapy, I create a compassionate and supportive environment that fosters personal growth and healing.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have extensive experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach that helps clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to stress, anxiety, and overwhelm. Over the years, I’ve guided clients in developing practical coping strategies, building healthier behavioral habits, and cultivating a more balanced mindset. My use of CBT is always tailored to each client’s unique needs, whether that means challenging negative self-talk, learning to set boundaries, or creating actionable steps toward personal goals. By combining structured techniques with compassionate support, I help clients not only gain insight into their thought patterns but also achieve meaningful, lasting change in their daily lives.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help women manage stress, break free from people-pleasing, and set healthier boundaries. This approach teaches you how to face difficult emotions without letting them control you, while focusing on healing from past relationships and building a life that reflects your true values and priorities.

I came to Stephanie Rush because I am going through a very difficult divorce and in our first session she made me feel very comfortable and at ease. It was very easy talking to her and the time went by so quickly. I can't wait until my next appointment.
