Hi, I’m Heather. I’m a licensed therapist and the founder of Growing Mindset Therapy. I work with individuals who look like they have it all together on the outside, but internally feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that aren’t working anymore. I specialize in helping people navigate anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I take a practical, no-fluff approach to therapy—meaning we’re not just talking about your experiences, we’re figuring out how to actually shift them in your day-to-day life. I show up as a real person in the room. I’m not a blank slate, and I don’t believe therapy needs to feel overly clinical to be effective. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable being honest, while also being challenged in a way that leads to meaningful growth. I work best with clients who are ready to look at themselves with curiosity, build self-awareness, and take actionable steps toward change—even when it’s uncomfortable. In addition to being a therapist, I am a wife, and dog mom to 2 rescue girls, Tortellini and Gnocchi.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I focus on getting to know you beyond just the surface-level details. I’ll ask questions about what’s bringing you in, what you’ve been dealing with, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. There’s no pressure to have the “perfect” answer or a fully formed story. You can show up exactly as you are. I also use this time to understand patterns in how you think, how you cope, and what’s been working (plus what hasn’t). We might start connecting some dots, but there’s no expectation that we solve everything in one session. You can also ask me questions because this is just as much about you figuring out if I’m the right fit as it is about me getting to know you. Most importantly, you can expect a space that feels real. I’m engaged, I ask thoughtful questions, and we might even share a laugh. You’ll likely leave with a better understanding of where you are and a clearer sense of what working together could look like.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength as a therapist is showing up first and foremost as a human. Being a therapist is more than what I do for a living, it is part of who I am.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is insightful, self-aware (or getting there), and tired of surface-level fixes. They want practical tools they can actually use in their day-to-day lives, but they also want space to process emotions without judgment. Many are used to being the “strong one,” the helper, or the one who has it all together—and are now realizing that role is unsustainable. I'm especially aligned with clients who value authenticity and relatability in the therapeutic relationship. They don’t want a blank slate therapist. They want someone who feels human, engaged, and real, while still guiding them through the uncomfortable work that leads to growth.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT's mindfulness skills are at the core of how I support clients with emotional regulation. I invite them to slow down and notice what's actually happening in the present moment, rahter than getting swept up in the story their nervous system is telling them. I use 2 therapy-isms "Observe" and "pay attention on purpose" to help my clients build the capacity to witness their thoughts, feelings, and sensations without immediately reacting or judging them.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Recognizing unhelpful thinking patterns is a key factor of being able to create cognitive flexibility. My work with CBT includes recognizing, and then replacing negative thoughts with more adaptive, or neutral thinking patterns.

Motivational Interviewing

Recognizing where a client is in their journey is a key foundation to our work together. I work to meet my clients where they are, and using foundations of MI, such as the stages of change, provides me with the scaffolding to do so.
