Board Certified Licensed Clinical Independent Social Worker ( LCSW, LICSW, LCSW-C, CCTP, C-DBT). I am Certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (C-DBT). I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) who provides client - centered psychotherapy. I am licensed in Maryland , Washington DC and North Carolina, and have 20+ years extensive experience serving in various behavioral and mental health settings. I offer a safe, warm, therapeutic, judgement- free space for Adults (18+) and Older Adults (65+). Each client will be met where she/he is, with acceptance and empathy. Life happens and we encounter challenges at one point or another. Negative thoughts and beliefs often control how we think, feel and relate. Over time, our negative emotions and pervasive thought patterns may become overwhelming and repressed. We will reflect upon any challenges you may have; including past and present. And as a team, we will get to a root cause, identify your trigger(s) and work collaboratively to develop insight, awareness, coping skills and tools to build your resilience, so you can arrive at answers within yourself. In essence, I'll support and empower you through your journey.
I look forward to hearing your story and collaborating with you to explore choices, resources and options that will help you make positive and sustainable life changes. I incorporate an eclectic approach to psychotherapy. My strengths lie with actively listening, client engagement, support, processing your feelings and empowering you to heal and thrive. I believe you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming challenges. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life, and to take the first steps towards change.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my clinical practice, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a structured, goal-oriented approach to help clients identify and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior. CBT informs my work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and other challenges by focusing on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and actions. I support clients in recognizing automatic negative thoughts and cognitive distortions that contribute to distress. Through collaborative exploration and guided questioning, I help clients evaluate the accuracy of these thoughts and develop more balanced, realistic perspectives. This process promotes healthier emotional responses and more adaptive behaviors.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as a structured, evidence-based approach to support clients served in developing effective coping strategies and improving emotional regulation. DBT informs both my conceptualization of client challenges and my interventions, particularly when working with individuals experiencing intense emotions, interpersonal difficulties, or maladaptive behaviors. I integrate the four core DBT skill modules—mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness—into treatment in a way that is tailored to each client’s needs
Supportive
In my clinical work, I utilize supportive therapy as a foundational approach to help clients feel heard, validated, and emotionally while navigating life’s challenges. This approach emphasizes the therapeutic relationship as a key vehicle for healing, creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can openly explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I provide consistent empathy, active listening, and encouragement to help clients process stressors, build insight, and strengthen their existing coping abilities.
Trauma Informed Care
In my clinical practice, I utilize a trauma-informed care approach to support and treat clients with sensitivity, respect, and an awareness of how past experiences may impact present functioning. I recognize that trauma can shape emotional responses, beliefs, relationships, and overall well-being, and I integrate this understanding into all aspects of care. I prioritize creating a safe, consistent, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel secure and supported. Emphasizing trust, collaboration, and transparency, I work to ensure that clients feel empowered and maintain a sense of control throughout the therapeutic process.
Narrative
In my work, I utilize Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) as a structured, trauma-focused approach to support clients in processing and integrating traumatic experiences. NET allows clients to construct a coherent narrative of their life, placing traumatic events within the broader context of their personal history, which helps reduce the intensity and fragmentation often associated with trauma memories. I guide clients in gradually revisiting significant life events in a safe and supportive environment, helping them organize and articulate their experiences chronologically. Through this process, clients are able to process distressing memories while also acknowledging moments of resilience, strength, and meaning throughout their lives. This balanced narrative supports emotional processing and fosters a more integrated sense of identity.
