I earned my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Webster University in 2008 and obtained my license for mental health counseling in 2017. I have a diverse background in counseling a variety of populations including substance use/addictions, veterans, and adolescents incarcerated with the Department of Juvenile Justice. I approach all of my clients with a sense of genuineness, empathy, and understanding in hopes to develop a strong and healthy therapeutic relationship. I utilize a combination of therapeutic approaches which include Client-Centered, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing and CBT, among others. I realize that the therapeutic process must be individualized to meet specific client needs and therefore create and tailor my approaches. I hope that through this supportive and nurturing collaboration, you will be able to work towards facilitating and actualizing your independent potential, in order to address your psychological, emotional and social concerns and/or chemical dependencies. If this sounds like something you would be interested in and would be willing to start this journey with me, please don't hesitate to contact my intake team by phone (786) 755-1863 or email intake+Chad18144@growtherapy.com today.
I encourage all of my clients to feel confident in developing a "toolbox" of coping skills and intervention strategies to mitigate the impact of presenting symptoms. I rely on worksheets and supplemental literature to reinforce the skills and strategies that are discussed in session. I consider myself to be your "mental health Uber driver" in that I will never force you to go anywhere you don't want to go, but that you need some idea of where you're going in order for me to assist you.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy
I feel most confident in addressing triggers and cues that lead to the negative outcomes associated with the presenting symptoms. I rely heavily on the CBT process to challenge irrational thoughts, and take a deeper dive on the belief system that is contributing to the negative emotional consequences.
