New to Grow
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. After completing my education and training at Stockton University, I began working in healthcare settings, specifically, with patients and families dealing with chronic illnesses. I’ve worked with diverse populations in non-profit organizations, in-home services and for-profit healthcare treatment settings. Outside of behavioral health care and in my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
I will work with you to find your inner energy to begin to enjoy life again, the simple pleasures, and the big moments. I believe in self-compassion, being kind to yourself, and allowing yourself the space to heal. I am here to assist you in being compassionate of your mind, body, and soul. I am here to support you and encourage you to practice self-care and teach you coping mechanisms to utilize in all aspects of your life.
My treatment focus is to help you heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. I achieve this by providing a safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing your treatment plan. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life. I use strengths-based approaches, empowerment and evidenced based interventions. I believe in an eclectic approach that is person centered and culturally sensitive.
My specialties include grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic illnesses such as Alzheimer's disease, chronic kidney disease/dialysis, working with caregivers, Geriatrics, Military/Veterans, other life changes, transitions, and losses. My practice is holistic, it focuses on the "whole" person and integrates spiritual, physical, mental and emotional forms of well-being. Most of my experience comes from working in healthcare settings, specifically working with patients and families dealing with chronic illnesses. My clinical approach is eclectic; I combine different evidence-based interventions to meet each individual's needs. Furthermore, my approach is person-centered, and strengths based. We will work collaboratively to create your treatment goals/plan.
Evidence-based modalities tailored to needs. I select and integrate interventions (e.g., CBT for anxiety/depression, motivational interviewing for behavior change, or mindfulness for stress) based on client goals, avoiding a one-size-fits-all method. Cultural competence integration: Uphold diversity/inclusion by blending culturally sensitive approaches (e.g., narrative therapy for identity-related issues across races, ethnicities, and genders).
Short-term, goal-focused CBT for anxiety, depression, or work stress. Teach cognitive restructuring: Identify automatic negative thoughts (e.g., “I’m failing at my job”) → challenge with evidence → replace with balanced thought (“I made a mistake, but I’m learning”). Assign behavioral activation homework (e.g., scheduling one enjoyable activity daily to combat low mood). Use CBT worksheets (thought records, mood logs) via telehealth portal.
Not linear – I teach clients the stages are fluid, not steps. Use as a normalizing framework, especially for anticipatory grief (e.g., terminal illness) Using Kübler-Ross to name, Worden to act, Dual Process to balance, Continuing Bonds to stay connected, and Meaning-Making to grow, I create safe, healing grief journeys.
Soothing Breathing → “Blow out birthday candles slowly.” Compassionate Imagery → “Imagine Mommy as a butterfly kissing your cheek.” Letter to Self → “Dear [Name], You are loved. It was an accident.” Screen-Share: Guided imagery scripts Whiteboard: Draw “3 Systems” (Threat/Drive/Soothing) Shared Docs: Compassionate letter templates Apps: “Compassion Coach” or “Calm” for soothing rhythm
You can’t think your way out of a body that’s on fire. Cool the body, feed the brain, heal the mind. Psychoeducation, homework and track progress. in-process Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP), I use a mind-body approach to treat the whole person—not just thoughts or emotions. This is especially powerful in chronic illness, trauma, grief, and stress, where the body holds pain as much as the mind. I blend evidence-based mind-body techniques with practical nutrition education (from my Nutritional Consultant Certificate) to help clients reduce inflammation, stabilize mood, boost neuroplasticity, and improve therapy outcomes.
