Hello, I am La Toya Reese a clinical social worker based in Delaware. I have been in the field of social work for over 15 years. I was born and raised in Harlem, NYC and relocated to Delaware in the spring of 2014. My career in NYC focused on supporting the homeless with case management and therapy. Since living in Delaware, I worked with children and their families. I spent a lot of time talking with parents about their challenges and ways to address their children behaviors while also paying attention to their emotional needs. I work with clients to assist them with navigating life.
First session will focus on getting to know each other and identifying the problems that the client is facing.
My greatest strength as a provider is that I am great listener and give clients the opportunity to vent.
I provide services for young adults and adults who are looking for assistance with working through emotions and life events.
In my work, I use CBT to help clients understand how their thoughts influence their feelings and behaviors. We work collaboratively to challenge negative thinking and develop practical strategies to navigate life’s challenges with more confidence and clarity.
Through DBT, I support clients in learning how to navigate overwhelming emotions, set healthy boundaries, and respond more effectively to stress. Together, we build practical skills that promote emotional balance and self-compassion.
Mindfulness is a core part of my approach I help clients slow down, tune into the present, and respond to challenges with greater clarity and calm. Together, we practice simple techniques like breath awareness, grounding, and self-compassion.
Rather than focusing on problems, I guide clients to explore what’s already working and how to do more of it. Together, we clarify goals, highlight strengths, and discover solutions that feel realistic and empowering
