New to Grow
Hello, I’m Kyla Thompson, a licensed therapist and wellness consultant passionate about helping people reconnect with themselves and rediscover their sense of purpose. I specialize in working with women, emerging adults, and survivors of trauma who are learning to rebuild their confidence, strengthen their emotional awareness, and create lives that feel balanced and aligned. My approach blends evidence-based practices with a holistic lens — helping you not just manage your symptoms, but understand your story, your patterns, and the power you have to create change. Together, we’ll work toward healing that feels grounded, empowering, and sustainable.
Our first session is a space for you to just be. We’ll take time to talk through what’s been going on, what brought you to therapy, and what you hope to gain from the process. I’ll ask questions to get a full picture of your experiences, but my goal is for you to feel safe, heard, and understood. Together, we’ll begin to outline what healing looks like for you and create a plan that feels realistic and supportive. You can expect a calm, compassionate environment — no judgment, just collaboration and care.
What stands out about my work is my ability to create a balance between real talk and restorative healing. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and trauma-informed methods such as EMDR to help you identify patterns, manage symptoms, and reconnect mind and body. I’m deeply intentional about meeting you where you are, honoring your pace, and helping you find clarity and empowerment along the way. Clients often share that they leave sessions feeling lighter, more self-aware, and ready to take meaningful action toward change.
I’m best suited to support individuals who are in a season of transition, whether that’s healing from trauma, navigating single parenthood, stepping into adulthood, or redefining who they are after major life changes. My clients are often insightful, high-functioning, and motivated to grow, but may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from their own needs. I help people who are ready to move from surviving to thriving, guiding them to rediscover their voice, self-trust, and sense of peace.
Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and how these interactions influence their symptoms. Through various methods, clients learn to manage their symptoms, identify patterns, and ultimately break or reshape their feedback loops.
Through Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, I guide clients in exploring their existing strengths and envisioning the changes they want to see. By emphasizing solutions rather than problems, we work together to create clear, achievable steps toward their desired outcomes.
I integrate EMDR therapy to help clients release the emotional impact of past experiences that may be influencing their current thoughts, emotions, or behaviors. This approach allows the brain to reprocess distressing memories, promoting healing, balance, and a greater sense of control.
