New to Grow
Hello, ma name is Allison. I have 13 years of experience providing therapy across schools, private practice and diverse community settings. My work has primarily focused on supporting neurodiverse individuals as wells as children, teens and tweens navigating behavioral and life challenges. I strive to create a supportive and collaborative space where clients feel understood, validated and empowered to build increased self awareness, confidence and coping skills to work toward meaningful change.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session we will spend time getting to know each other and talk about what brought you to therapy. My goal is to create a comfortable and supportive space where you feel heard and respected. I use humor when things are funny, and like to laugh with you. When things are hard I will be right there with you. I feel deeply for my clients want you to feel seen. Together we can begin identifying areas you would like to work on and how therapy can support you moving forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My strengths as a therapist come from a blend of experience, insight, and adaptability. With 13 years of clinical work across neuro diverse populations, diverse communities, school settings, and private practice I bring a well rounded perspective to individual needs. I have experience with understanding complex behaviors and helping clients and their families make sense of the patterns that may feel confusing or overwhelming. What makes my work unique is my ability to balance structure with genuine connection. I draw from CBT, Person Centered, and Play Therapy techniques tailoring sessions for the individual, meeting clients where they are at and offering practical tools that clients can use in their daily life.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
People who tend to be a great therapy match with me are often children, teens or young adults who experience anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, social difficulties, or stress related to school, family stress or life transitions. Many of my clients are thoughtful, engaging young people who feel overwhelmed or unsure how to manage their relationships. They often come to therapy wanting practical tools to better understand themselves, improve coping skills, and to build confidence in school and/or relationships.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have 13 years of experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as an evidence based approach in psychotherapy. I combine various modalities in treatment, and CBT is a constant as it helps clients identify the relationship between their thoughts, emotions and behaviors. It leads to developing healthier thinking patterns and coping strategies.
