Hi, I'm Kendra! I'm so happy you're here! I'm a licensed clinical social worker and have been working in the mental health field for 10 years. I am from the state of Indiana, and I have lived in Tennessee for 4 years now. I have worked in foster care, substance use treatment, family preservation, virtual intensive outpatient, crisis management, acute psychiatric facilities, and private practice. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, motivational therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy informed skills. All of this to say, I've been trained in many different settings and would welcome the opportunity to support you through your mental health journey.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
First sessions can feel intimidating. I take a "come as you are" approach. In our first session together, we're going to break the ice, begin to get to know each other, and talk about what you want to get out of therapy.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
When working with you, my goal is to make sure you feel supported, help you navigate to where you're trying to get to, and work collaboratively to solve problems. We'll go through different ways to address areas of struggle, and then, we'll also celebrate the wins. I find that I am focused on how you feel you're doing, and I want to ensure you see how far you've come so we'll do regular reviews of therapeutic goals. I primarily use a combination of methods for therapy, and I find that this has been seriously beneficial in my work with a variety of mental health conditions. I find a way to utilize communication, humor when appropriate, and our therapeutic relationship to help you step into the version of yourself you want to be.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I'd be better positioned to serve you as your therapist if you're someone who is willing to try. I've worked with kids ranging from infant to adults up to 64. I've worked in foster care, substance use disorders, and many more. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma, and I'm comfortable working on different mood disorders and also neurodivergence, such as ADHD and autism. We'll work well together as long as you want to be in therapy and are willing to try changes!

I use a mixture of therapy methods, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy with dialectical behavioral therapy informed skills to support clients with a wide range of mental health needs.
