Priscilla Abji
Hi, I'm Priscilla, founder and licensed clinical psychotherapist of Priscilla Abji Counseling (PAC). I've been working in the mental health field since 2012, supporting teens and adults through life's challenges with compassionate, evidence-based care. Healing begins when you feel truly seen.
Therapy for the parts of your story that don't always fit neatly into words. A warm, thoughtful space to explore relationships, identity, family, culture, and the experiences that have shaped you.
Whether you're navigating trauma, relationships, or the complexities of balancing multiple cultures and family expectations, you don't have to do it alone. The experiences that shaped you don't have to define your future. Therapy can help you make sense of your story and move toward lasting healing.
First session
Our first session is an opportunity to get to know you, understand what brings you to therapy, and explore your goals together. We’ll discuss your history, current challenges, and what you hope to gain from therapy. I’ll answer your questions and help you feel comfortable. We’ll move at your pace, and creating a space where you feel heard.
Strengths
My approach is outcome-focused, warm, compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I believe that therapy should be a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. Because no two people are the same, I tailor treatment to your unique needs, drawing from a variety of therapeutic approaches to create a personalized path forward. I also specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help clients process difficult experiences, build resilience, and create lasting change.
Ideal clients
I specialize in helping individuals and couples navigate the unique dynamics related to first and second generation families, intercultural relationships, trauma, attachment wounds, and cultural identity. I recognize that these experiences can influence how we see ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world. I also specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help clients process difficult experiences, build resilience, and create lasting change.
Treatment methods
EMDR
I use EMDR to help clients process distressing experiences that may continue to affect their emotions, beliefs, and relationships. Together, we identify experiences and core beliefs to work through at a pace that feels manageable. EMDR can help reduce emotional distress, shift limiting beliefs, and support a greater sense of safety and self-understanding.
Psychodynamic
I use a psychodynamic approach to help clients explore how past experiences, relationships, and unconscious patterns shape their emotions, beliefs, and behaviors today. Together, we build insight into these patterns, deepen self-awareness, and uncover underlying themes. This process can foster greater clarity, healthier relationships, and meaningful, lasting change.
