(she/they)
Hello there! I'm a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. I received my Masters from Santa Clara University and have been practicing therapy for six years. I help clients build safety in their lives so they can embrace all parts of their self. When I'm not at work, I am hanging out with my dogs, reading, or playing spooky banjo music.
The relationship between you and your therapist is one of the most reliable predictors of satisfaction in therapy. So our first session is a space for us to start getting to know each other to figure out if I'm the right fit for you. I will ask questions that give me a better idea of what brought you in and your goals, and I encourage you to let me know what you need in a therapist and to ask me questions.
From feedback from previous clients and supervisors, I present as warm, curious, and open-minded therapist. I meet with clients in a collaborative manner and trust you as the expert in yourself. I allow room for all parts of you and whatever emotions show up. My practice is affirming of neuro-, sexual, gender, and relational (monogamy, non-monagamy/polyam, kink) diversity.
I love supporting adults who are working through shame, guilt, low self-compassion, and generally struggling to accept all parts of themselves. I work well with clients who are curious about improving boundaries, who have experienced past harmful family dynamics, and who are coming to terms with new diagnoses or life transitions.
I identify as
Existential
Existential therapy is an approach we can use to explore the anxiety inherent of being a person grappling with life's fundamental challenges- meaning, freedom, isolation, and mortality. We work together to deepen your understanding of authentic self, including your personal values and the meaning you make of your life. My work is to support you in living well and finding empowerment and ownership of your choices.
Feminist
Healing within feminist therapy looks beyond us as individuals to explore how larger systems of inequity related to gender, power, and social injustices impact us. We identify and explore how health and well-being are impacted by social issues and identities. This modality resonates with peoples of any gender or cultural background who are seeking to achieve a sense of empowerment in your life and promote social change. I will join with you in a collaborate manner to untangle internalized messages of biases, discrimination, and power.
Trauma Informed Care
Trauma-informed care allows us to create a safe and supportive therapy environement by recognizing and tending to the effects of trauma. This approach prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment. We will work together to understand your trauma reactions, increase your resilience, process trauma at a safe pace, and add to your existing coping strategies.
Gender-affirming therapy
I use gender-affirming therapy to support and validate clients' gender identities and experiences. This approach focuses on creating a safe and respectful space where individuals can explore and express their gender identity without judgment. By collaborating with clients to affirm their gender, address any related challenges, and advocate for their needs, we work together to enhance self-acceptance and well-being. My aim is to support you in living authentically and confidently.
Attachment-based
Safe relationships with ourselves and others allows us to make change. If we do not feel secure then we often get stuck. Attachment-based treatment helps us understand how your early experiences with relationships influence your current emotional and behavioral experiences. We work together to develop a secure attachment which helps you then build more trust in self and improve relationships.
