I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing (PMHNP) from Fairleigh Dickinson University. I currently work at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where I've been practicing since 2022. With 3 years of experience in geriatric psychiatry and 2 years in outpatient care, I specialize in helping young adults manage depression and anxiety, providing compassionate and evidence-based mental health care.
In the first session, clients can expect a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. We will discuss your current concerns, including symptoms, emotional challenges, and any relevant personal or medical history. I'll ask about your mental health background, lifestyle, and goals for treatment. This session is designed to give me a clear understanding of your unique situation so we can create a personalized treatment plan together, aimed at addressing your mental health needs and helping you move forward.
As a psychiatric provider, my greatest strengths are empathy, active listening, and a collaborative approach to care. I excel at creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. I also focus on individualized treatment, combining evidence-based practices with a deep understanding of each client’s unique experiences. My background in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatry allows me to bring a broad perspective to mental health challenges, helping clients feel supported and empowered throughout their treatment journey.
I am best positioned to serve clients who are motivated to make positive changes in their lives but feel stuck or lack the tools to do so. These clients often experience feelings of overwhelm and anxiety, particularly around their careers, and need guidance in navigating their mental health challenges to achieve personal and professional growth. I support them in developing coping strategies and building confidence to move forward.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
In my practice, I often use mindfulness-based techniques to help patients manage symptoms of anxiety and depression. One of the first steps is introducing them to mindful breathing exercises, which help ground them in moments of distress. Over time, we progress to mindful meditation and body scans, encouraging non-judgmental observation of thoughts and feelings.
