I am a clinical social worker with experience in therapeutic and education settings. I received my Master of Social Work from Boston University and have been practicing for 5 years. Prior to clinical practice, I had a career in higher education where I developed a passion for working with young adults experiencing stress, burnout, and working to better understand themselves and the world around them.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I aim to co-create a space with you that allows you to explore and be vulnerable without judgment and assumptions. We will start with an introductory session (or two) that provides an opportunity for me to learn about you, your concerns, your needs for a welcoming environment, and your hopes for therapy. Next, we will create a plan that guides our work together and supports progression toward your goals for therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Collaboration, empowerment, and community are at the core of my practice. I consider all of YOU in our work— your identities, pains, joys, strengths.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with adults ages 18-30 transitioning into or currently experiencing college, graduate school, or early stages of their careers. My clients are ready for change, exploring their identities, navigating challenges with peers or family, or feeling a little stuck, depressed, or anxious.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a modality that helps us examine and challenge recurring thoughts that impact our mood and behaviors. We will use CBT to identify thought patterns, explore how these thoughts contribute to mood and self-esteem, and work to change these thoughts to decrease experiences of anxious an/or depressed mood. For more overwhelming or intrusive thoughts, we will also use DBT (dialectical behavioral theory) to increase your toolkit of coping skills.

Trauma Informed Care

I approach all work with clients with an understanding that the therapeutic relationship is an opportunity to practice and establish safety and agency. Trauma, whether interpersonal or systemic, is pervasive and can impact us biologically, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I am trained in and utilize cognitive processing therapy. I will provide psychoeducation on trauma and its impacts, and work with you to understand and frequently reassess how our therapeutic relationship can be a place of safety. I will assess for trauma history, its impact on your daily life, and your hopes for healing. We will practice skills to increase your ability to feel safe in your body and more confident in your ability to regulate overwhelming emotional and somatic symptoms. I will work with you to process traumatic experiences and their impacts on your beliefs about yourself and the world.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I recognize that the mental health field and research does not exist in vacuum. I believe culture, identity, and relationships with power and oppression play a crucial role in the ways in which we navigate the world and can shape our views and understanding of our mental health. I work to understand and affirm your culture and identities, and collaborate with you to ensure that our therapeutic work is relevant and inclusive to all of you.
