(she/her)
Hi, I'm Brenda Montero, owner and CEO of Tranquility Cove Counseling. I am a bilingual licensed professional counselor, and I am here to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment to ensure you are able to work on healing yourself throughout your journey. The passion I have to help others allowed me to begin my therapeutic journey more than 19 years ago. Throughout the years, I have worked with children, teens, families, the elderly, and adults struggling with various mental health challenges with various diversities in multiple settings.
I believe in the importance of creating a therapeutic space where you feel valued, safe, and understood without judgement. The first session is roughly 60 minutes and consists of review and discussion of expectations and policies. We then engage in the intake assessment that includes rationale for seeking out therapy, background history, treatment history, social history, medical concerns, strengths, supports, and other pertinent information.. Once that has been completed, we will then collaboratively discuss treatment goals and objectives to ensure your needs are being met.
My specialties include PTSD, C-PTSD, trauma, abuse, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, teen mental health, dissociative disorders, family relationships, life events, grief/bereavement, military/veteran support, multicultural issues, sex/intimacy/romantic relationships, and LGBTQIA issues. The value and respect I have for each of my clients set me apart from other providers. I am genuine, honest, and direct. I have a great sense of humor with a splash of sarcasm. I enjoy spending time with family, playing with my fur-baby, reading, dancing, and anything beach or snow related. Above all, I love being a mom to the most vivacious mini-me.
I particularly enjoy working with clients who are committed, consistent, and motivated to engage in their healing process, whether they are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or whatever life throwa their way.
