New to Grow
I am a licensed professional counselor with experience working with children, families, and individuals facing a variety of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. My approach is supportive, understanding, and tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. I work collaboratively with clients to help them develop coping skills, improve relationships, and achieve their personal goals. I strive to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and understood. If you are looking for someone who listens, validates your experiences, and works with you to find practical solutions, then I may be the right fit for you.
During your first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and discuss the reasons you’re seeking therapy. I’ll ask questions about your background, current challenges, and goals for therapy. This helps me understand your needs and how we can work together. We’ll also talk about what therapy looks like, including confidentiality, how sessions work, and what you can expect from me as your therapist. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and share what’s most important to you. The first session is a chance to start building trust and decide if this is the right fit for you.
My therapeutic approach is client-centered, supportive, and tailored to meet each individual’s unique needs. I combine evidence-based methods, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), and other trauma-informed interventions, to help clients address behavioral, emotional, and relational challenges. What stands out about my approach is my focus on collaboration and empowerment: I work with clients to build coping skills, improve relationships, and achieve goals in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. I also emphasize practical strategies that produce real-world results, helping clients see progress both in and outside of therapy.
I work best with clients who are ready to engage in therapy and are open to exploring their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I specialize in supporting children, adolescents, and families who may be experiencing behavioral challenges, emotional difficulties, stress, grief, or relational concerns. I am also well-suited to work with clients who want to improve coping skills, strengthen family relationships, manage anger or anxiety, and achieve personal growth. If you are motivated to understand yourself better, develop practical strategies, and make positive changes, I can help guide you through that process.
In our sessions, I will create a safe and nonjudgmental space where you can talk about whatever is on your mind. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to support you in understanding yourself and finding your own solutions.
CBT is a hands-on approach. You and I will work together to identify unhelpful thoughts, challenge them, and replace them with more balanced thinking. We’ll also practice new behaviors and coping strategies that can help you feel better and handle challenges more effectively.
During sessions, we may observe how you and your child interact, and we’ll look at what’s going well and what might be causing stress or misunderstandings. We might practice ways to respond to challenging behavior, improve communication, and strengthen your bond.
